Is Webpage to Markdown different from URL to Markdown?

Same engine, same output. "Webpage to Markdown" is the single-page workflow; URL to Markdown exposes additional crawl options for multi-page batch jobs. If you have one URL, either works; if you have a sitemap or want to crawl a whole site, use URL to Markdown or Website to Markdown.

Does this work on JavaScript-rendered pages?

Yes — pages render in a headless browser before extraction, so SPAs (React, Vue, Svelte) finish loading their content first. We wait for the actual page to mount, then read the rendered DOM. Pages that depend on user interaction (click to expand, scroll to load) may need API parameters to trigger those interactions before capture.

Will tables and code blocks survive?

Yes — HTML tables become GFM Markdown tables (column alignment preserved when present in the source), code blocks become fenced Markdown code blocks with language hints when detectable from the source's class attributes (class="language-python" → ```python).

Are images downloaded or referenced?

Referenced by URL by default — the resulting Markdown contains ![alt](https://example.com/image.png) and the image loads from its original location when the Markdown is rendered. To download images alongside the Markdown (for fully offline use), pass download_images=true on the API and the response is a ZIP with the .md plus an images/ folder.

Does this work for pages behind a paywall or login?

For pages your authenticated session can access, use the API with a session cookie or bearer token in request headers — we process whatever HTML the fetch returns. For paywalls where you don't have access, no — we don't bypass paywalls or scrape against site terms of service.
