Vietnamese diacritics

Vietnamese uses extensive diacritics on vowels to mark tones and quality (à, á, ả, ã, ạ, etc.). All preserved in the Markdown output. The Latin alphabet is used (with the additional letters ă, â, đ, ê, ô, ơ, ư).

Realistic accuracy

Vietnamese accuracy is lower than for top-tier Whisper languages — typically 85-92% on clean studio audio. Tonal complexity and the language's relatively lower training-data representation mean expect more cleanup than for English/Spanish/French content.

Northern vs Southern variants

Hanoi (northern) and Ho Chi Minh City (southern) Vietnamese sound noticeably different. Both are supported but accuracy varies — northern Vietnamese is somewhat better-represented in training data.
