Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 April 2026These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of mdisbetter.com ("the Service"), operated by Datavex Labs Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17036825, with its registered office at Unit A3, Castle Road, Sittingbourne, England, ME10 3EW ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
MDisBetter provides online tools that convert files (PDF, Word, audio, video, images, and other formats) into Markdown and other AI-optimised formats. The Service operates on a credit-based system where each operation consumes a defined number of credits. Conversions are performed with reasonable care and skill, using a combination of in-house processing and third-party AI services (see Section 10).
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that provide false information.
3. Plans, Credits and Billing
We offer a free tier and several paid subscription plans. Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation that resets at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused monthly credits do not roll over. Top-up credits purchased separately do not expire and carry over between billing cycles. Current plan details and prices are displayed on our pricing page.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD). By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise us to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
Auto-renewal: All paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current price. We will send you a reminder email at least 7 days before each renewal date, confirming the amount and date of the upcoming charge and how to cancel if you wish.
We reserve the right to change our prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new prices take effect on your next billing cycle. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the "Manage subscription" button in your dashboard. The cancellation process requires the same number of steps as subscribing. Upon cancellation, your paid plan benefits (including your credit allocation) remain active until the end of the current billing period. After that date, your account reverts to the free plan with 50 credits per month. No partial refunds are given for unused time within a billing period.
5. Refund Policy
We offer a 7-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase, provided you have consumed fewer than 10% of your plan's monthly credits. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.
Refund requests after 7 days, or where more than 10% of credits have been consumed, will be assessed on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA/UK Consumers)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (UK) and Directive 2011/83/EU (EU/EEA), you have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal for online purchases, starting from the date of purchase. You do not need to give a reason to exercise this right.
Digital content exception: Because MDisBetter is a digital service that begins immediately upon subscription, we will ask for your explicit consent at checkout to begin providing the Service immediately and your acknowledgement that you will lose your right of withdrawal once credits have been consumed. This is in accordance with Regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU.
If you did not provide this consent, or if you have not yet consumed any credits, you retain the full 14-day right to cancel and receive a full refund.
We nevertheless honour our 7-day satisfaction guarantee as described in Section 5 above, which provides additional protection.
7. Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or equivalent consumer protection legislation in your country of residence. The Service is provided with reasonable care and skill. If the Service fails to meet this standard, you are entitled to request that we re-perform the affected conversion or, where re-performance is not possible or not carried out within a reasonable time, a proportionate reduction in price.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Upload files that contain malware, viruses, or malicious code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Abuse the credit system through automated scripts, bots, or any other means designed to circumvent usage limits.
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit access to the Service without our written consent.
- Upload content that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine you have violated these Terms. Where possible, we will give you notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach before taking action.
9. Intellectual Property and Your Content
You retain full ownership of the files you upload and the converted output generated by the Service. We do not claim any rights over your content. Files are processed in real time and are not stored beyond the duration of the conversion operation, unless explicitly offered as a temporary feature (e.g., download links that expire within one hour).
The Service itself, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Datavex Labs Ltd and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
10. Third-Party AI Processing
To perform conversions, your files may be transmitted to third-party AI services, including Google Gemini (for document structuring and OCR) and Deepgram (for audio and video transcription). These services process your files solely to deliver the conversion you requested. We have Data Processing Agreements in place with each of these providers. We do not use your files for training AI models, and neither do our sub-processors under the terms of our agreements. Please see our Privacy Policy for the full list of sub-processors.
11. Service Availability and Limitations
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability.
Conversion quality depends on the input file format and content. While we use commercially reasonable efforts to deliver accurate conversions, we do not guarantee specific accuracy and are not liable for errors in converted output. You should review all converted content before relying on it.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Datavex Labs Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of the terms implied by sections 9, 12 or 13 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979; (d) any breach of the terms implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982; or (e) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country.
14. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at mdisbetter.ai@gmail.com. We will do our best to resolve the issue promptly. If you are a UK consumer and we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may refer the matter to Citizens Advice or your local Trading Standards office. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
