MDisBetter vs Submagic: Captions on Video vs Transcript in a File
Submagic exists to make short-form video look native to the feed: animated word-by-word captions, emoji accents, zooms, hooks and auto-clipping long recordings into postable verticals. It is built for creators who post daily and want captions that match what performs on TikTok. MDisBetter exists for the opposite half of the workflow: paste a public TikTok URL and get the spoken content back as a Markdown document, 2 credits per minute, 50 free credits per month. Submagic hands you a video. MDisBetter hands you a text file. Neither substitutes for the other, and picking is easy once you name the deliverable. Nobody should use a Markdown converter to caption a Reel, and nobody should pay a caption subscription to find out what a 30 second clip said.

Submagic's advantage is aesthetic and it is real: the caption styles are tuned for what the short-form feed rewards, and getting the same look manually in a general editor takes far longer. Its auto-clipping (long recording in, several postable verticals out) is also outside anything a converter does.
The gap for our use case: Submagic works on the video you give it, and its output is a video. Analysing thirty TikToks you did not post means downloading thirty files and then extracting text from a captioned render. TikTok to Markdown takes the link and returns prose you can paste into a prompt, a doc or a content calendar.
The repurposing angle is covered in transcribing TikToks for repurposing, and the reason the words are not already available anywhere in TikTok will not give you the transcript. For long-form sources, YouTube to Markdown and Video to Markdown produce the same output shape.
